Yesterday I downloaded the Sunrise browser 1.8.5 on an early Intel Mac running 10.4.11 and then used Outlook (ex Hotmail) under Sunrise without difficulty. Not exhaustively tested, but basic functionality seems to be there.

I recently upgraded my iMac to Mac OS X 10.4.11. As a part of the upgrade package, Safari has also been upgraded to version 3.0.4. Ever since the upgrade, Safari cannot to the Internet anymore. The iMac cannot connect to Apple0019s Software Upgrade web site either.

My iTune also has become a victim and it now cannot connect to the iTune Store and I cannot download podcasts or music any longer. The only browser that can still connect to the Internet is Firefox. I tried Opera and it didn0019t work either.I would like to make my iMac able to connect to the Internet again via Safari and iTune. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Try this:Go to Spotlight and search for InputManager'The search will come up blank. Click on Show AllIn the resultant window click on File Name instead of Contents. The search will still be blank. Now click on the plus button on the far right of the Window.
This will bring up a new line which has a TYPE button.Click on TYPE and change it to OTHER. In the box that comes up, scroll down to SYSTEM FILES, and check the Tick box.Now when you click on TYPE again, you should get an option in the pop up menu for SYSTEM FILES. In the right hand box change 'don't include' to 'include'.If you have and InputManagers folders, they should now appear. Also search for 'piclens' using the same settings. Hi, thank you for checking into this problem. In the Network settings, We Proxy (HTTP) was checked. I unchecked the check box and restarted Safari but it didn't help. Safari still cannot connect to the Internet.Next, I went into the Home directory/Library/Preferen ces and deleted 'com.apple.safari.plist' and restarted Safari.
This did not help either.Next, I went into the Utility Disk Utility and then performed 'Repair Disk Permissions' on Macintosh HD. Safari still cannot connect to the Internet.
I thought that Google Chrome was going to be created for 10.4.11 and above.Don't have an Intel computer as I had just purchased this one and it is still state of the art and runs more than fast enough for what I need to do.Tried 10.5.did not work as well for me as 10.4.11 and 10.6 has a more stuff that I don't need.I would guess that if you did a survey you would find that there are many many 10.4.11 users and it may well be the majority of OSX users.maybe not.??Is my question useful. Probably not. Just sniveling.!
As a long time Mac user, I appreciate wanting to have Google Chrome for OS X Tiger (10.4). Unfortunately one of the key features of Google Chrome, namely its sandboxed security model, relies on the security sandbox that Apple has provided in OS X Leopard (10.5) and later. You can see the sandbox security features (amongst the other 300+ enhancements that Apple made in Leopard over Tiger) here:Without sandbox provided by the core OS, it wouldn't be possible for us to implement the sandboxed browser model in Google Chrome. For more on how this works in Google Chrome for Mac, see here:Best wishesMike.
I also use 10.4.11 iMac OS X PPC. I am very very disappointed that google has decided to exclude those of us that still use this system, many of us can not afford a new mac intel due to the current economic state, but google has neither thought of this nor do they seem to care.I'm not putting much hope that google will actually listen to us due to my experience with youtube which is also owned by google, which summarily ignored the users when majority users expressed a dislike for the new profile layouts.Google PLEASE make chrome for mac OS X 10.4.
